Communications Manager

DBI is looking for a new Communications Manager to support the firm's continued growth and expansion into new markets. READ MORE

Role Overview:

As the Communications Manager, you will be the firm's primary storyteller, responsible for the creation and dissemination of a diverse range of marketing materials. This is a unique opportunity to expand the firm’s communications and brand strategy, working closely with firm leadership to tell compelling stories about our company, our projects, our approach, and our people. A successful Communications Manager will be an effective project manager in addition to a creative storyteller.

Key Responsibilities:

You will spearhead the firm’s communications strategy through the following responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: In collaboration with firm leadership, develop and oversee the execution of a clear, intelligent, and achievable communication strategy across various internal and external-facing materials. Establish and maintain a timely content calendar for the production and publication of materials.
  • Content Development and Management: Develop and manage content for DBI’s proposals, presentations, resumes, website, social media channels, and all other digital and print content. Devise and execute integrated strategies and campaigns that elevate awareness of DBI and our differentiators.
  • Website Management: Regularly update and maintain DBI’s existing website through Wordpress. Manage the reimagination and redevelopment of DBI’s website.
  • Story Creation and Promotion: Celebrate and support the DBI community through dynamic and engaging storytelling. Seek out and create stories from within our ranks and among our work and find the best routes to share them.
  • Marketing Information Database Management: Regularly update and maintain DBI’s marketing information database.
  • Marketing KPI Management: Monitor marketing KPIs and analyze data to improve effectiveness.
  • Media Relations Management: Oversee media relations, ensuring that we continually increase visibility and proactively promote the firm and its accomplishments. Manage external PR team and support the creation and dissemination of media releases.
  • Brand Management: Actively advance DBI’s brand strategy, updating and creating new standards and ensuring alignment across all materials produced and disseminated.

Key Skills and Experience:

You have professional experience as a writer for a range of audiences, and you can effectively assess and understand new and technical concepts, translating them into clear, compelling copy. An understanding of and interest in the real estate and construction industries is a major plus, as is any graphic design proclivities. A working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere), Wordpress, Hubspot, Smartsheets, and Trello will be helpful as well.

Senior Project Manager

Role Overview:

Senior Project Managers are the primary point of contact with the client and for all project consultants. They are responsible for overall budget and schedule management, in addition to strategic planning with the client to anticipate and address project-specific needs. As DBI is typically one of the first consultants hired for a project, Senior Project Managers are responsible for assisting the client in developing an overall project framework and selecting the appropriate project team to ensure successful and timely completion of the project. DBI leaders are also expected to develop the skill sets of DBI team members working under them.

Required Experience:

Prospective applicants should have 10+ years of experience with project management, real estate development, architecture, or related practices, with experience leading project delivery. Applicants should have direct experience in all project phases and should have served in the role of project lead on at least three projects greater than 50,000-sf.

Additionally, previous work experience should include direct involvement in:

  • Institutional projects
  • Change of use process
  • Construction administration
  • Coordinating between or with A/E teams, contractors, and various stakeholders
  • Schedule and budget management

The Project Manager will report to DBI Principals, Project Executives, or Senior Project Managers.

Prospective applicants should have 6–12 years of experience in architecture or related practices with experience overseeing project delivery. This experience should include direct involvement in:

  • Site supervision and construction administration
  • Coordinating between or with A/E teams and contractors
  • Schedule and budget management

Applicants should have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present themselves confidently in meetings and manage the project team. Additionally, the position requires proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and, particularly, Excel). Experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam are particularly valuable as well, as is knowledge of construction scheduling programs such as MS Projects.

The Assistant Project Manager supports the project lead and senior leadership with client interaction, project team coordination, contractor and schedule management, budget management, and other project-related activities.

The position requires proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and, particularly, Excel) and Adobe Create Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
